At DKT Design and Software we cover the four engineering jobs a machine needs: machine design, analysis, animation that shows how the machine works, and the machine’s software. You can use these services separately, or run them together as one project that takes you from an idea to a working machine. We work as a machine design and engineering firm for the manufacturing industry from our office in Ostim, Ankara, Türkiye. We explain the principles and stages of machine design in our what is machine design guide.
Four separate services
Machine design
We define together what the machine must do, then take it from concept design to 3D model, assembly, technical drawings and bill of materials, ready for production.
Analysis and load calculations
We check the strength of load-bearing parts and structures with computer simulation, and calculate and report snow, wind and seismic loads to Eurocode.
Kinematic analysis and animation
We see how a mechanism will move before it is built, catching collisions and stroke problems early. From the same model we produce a technical animation that explains how the machine works.
Machine software
We develop the operator screen and control software that talk to the machine’s PLC: recipe and parameter management, alarms, production records, user permissions and a simulation mode for testing without a PLC.
Together: from idea to working machine
Doing all four under one roof removes the gaps between disciplines that cost machine projects the most time. A change in the design is checked in the analysis, seen in the animation and reflected in the software within the same project.
- Requirements: The machine’s task, capacity, size limits and your expectations are put in writing.
- Design: A concept is chosen and the machine is designed in 3D.
- Analysis: Load-bearing parts and critical areas are checked for loads and strength.
- Animation: The mechanism’s motion is verified and the way the machine works is shown in an animation.
- Software: The machine’s control software is written and tested in simulation mode without connecting to a PLC.
- Production: Technical drawings and the bill of materials go to manufacturing; during commissioning the software is adapted to the machine on site.
Examples of our software approach in the field are our plant automation products DKT CPlants and DKT APlants.
Why DKT?
- Design and software together: The machine’s mechanical design and its software progress under one roof, on one project plan.
- Heavy-industry experience: We develop software for plants that run in the field, such as concrete batching and asphalt plants, so we design for real site conditions.
- In Ostim, next to manufacturers: Our office in Ostim, Ankara, makes face-to-face work with manufacturers easy.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the services separately?
Yes. For example, you can ask for analysis or animation only for an existing design, or software only for an existing machine.
What is the benefit of design, analysis, animation and software together?
One point of contact and one project plan. Design changes are handled straight away in the analysis and the software by the same team, so nothing gets lost between disciplines.
What should I send for a quote?
A short description of the machine or project, any sketches, photos or 3D model files, and your target delivery date. We send the scope and schedule in writing.
Which industries do you work with?
We serve the manufacturing industry; on the software side we have products for heavy-industry plants such as concrete batching and asphalt plants. Tell us about your project and we will assess the scope together.
